Arrest Made for Intoxication Manslaughter

CORPUS CHRISTI (News Release) - At approximately 7:20 pm on Wednesday, November 2, 2022, officers were dispatched to the 2100 block of US HWY 181 South for a major crash.

Upon arrival, officers located 3 vehicles, with a total of 4 injured parties. The occupants of the vehicles were all extracted from their respective vehicles with help from the Corpus Christi Fire Department.

A 37-year-old female driver and a 27-year-old male passenger of one vehicle were pronounced deceased on scene.

A 39-year-old female driver of a separate vehicle sustained serious, but non-life-threatening injuries.

The at-fault driver was transported to a local hospital and was admitted for injuries sustained in the crash.

Investigators were able to determine that the at-fault driver was possibly under the influence of an intoxicating substance and was traveling north in the southbound lanes on US HWY 181. A blood specimen was collected from the driver, which will be sent off to a Crime Lab for processing.

Investigators secured 3 warrants for the Offender: Intoxication Manslaughter ($250,000 Bond), Intoxication Manslaughter ($250,000 Bond), and Intoxication Assault ($150,000 Bond).

The driver, identified as a 35-year-old Roxanne Palacios, was released from the hospital and transported to the City Detention Center for processing, at approximately 4:15 pm on Sunday, November 13, 2022.
