Warrant in Bishop Leads to Arrest of Owner and Manager at Cloud Z

BISHOP (News Release) - At approximately 6:20 pm on Wednesday, May 3, 2023, the Bishop Police Department, along with other members of the Nueces County Attorney's Criminal Interdiction Unit (NCDA-CIU), executed a search and arrest warrant at the “Cloud Z” smoke shop, located in the 200 block of E. Main Street, in Bishop, Texas.

The owner of the business, identified as Ramandeep “Raman” Soodan, and the manager, identified as Jennifer Carabajal, were taken into custody without incident and later transported to the Nueces County Jail.

Both individuals are facing multiple criminal charges, to include:

P.C. 71.02 Engaging in Organized Criminal Activity (State Jail Felony),

P.C. 47.04 Keeping a Gambling Place (Class A Misdemeanor),

P.C. 47.03 Gambling Promotion (Class A Misdemeanor),

P.C. 47.06 Possession of Gambling Device / Equipment / Paraphernalia (Class A Misdemeanor).

This search and arrest warrant is part of an ongoing criminal investigation and additional arrests are expected in this case.
