Male Driver Arrested After Leading Police on a Police Pursuit

CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS - (News Release) On June 10, 2024 at approximately 2:30pm Nueces County Constable Pct 3 Deputy over heard Corpus Christi Police Officers in pursuit of aggravated robbery suspect in the area of FM 43 and Hwy 286. This suspect committed several aggravated robberies with pepper spray and box cutters.
Pct 3 Deputy tried to get spike strips out at the location but was unable to do so. US Marshals took over the pursuit from CCPD, as Pct. 3 Deputy began to call out the pursuit from the third vehicle.
The pursuit continued north bound on Hwy 286 and entered west bound onto IH37. The vehicle quickly turned back North bound onto IH37 where US Marshals, Pct. 3 and Pct 5 Deputies pursued it to USHWY 77 south where the vehicle exited FM 624. The vehicle travelled west on FM 624 into Orange Grove, Jim Wells County.
At this point Pct. 3 Deputies were in lead of the pursuit with Pct 5, US Marshals, and Dps Troopers. The vehicle turned south onto FM 359 from Orange Grove towards Alice, Jim Wells.
While traveling south on FM 359 two separate DPS Troopers successfully spiked the vehicle's tires. As the vehicle merged onto West USHWY 44 from FM 359, Troopers took the lead of the pursuit.
The vehicle lost control due to no tires and rolled over several times coming to rest on its roof. The male suspect was taken into custody by responding officers. A CCPD Officer arrived one scene and took over custody and control of the suspect. The suspect was transported to a local hospital to be evaluated due to roll over accident.
