Yorktown Shooting

CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS (News Release) - On March 8, 2025, at about 12:45 am officers were dispatched to the 6500 block of Yorktown Blvd in reference to a shooting. Updates stated the offender left the location in a vehicle south on Cimarron Blvd. Multiple witnesses on scene were able to give a description of the fleeing vehicle along with the identity of the shooter.
27-year-old Isaac Rene Martinez.
As multiple officers arrived in the area, they contacted one victim at Staples and Yorktown. The 21-year-old male had non-life-threatening injuries. He was treated on scene.
The male victim told officers he arrived at the establishment to pick someone up when he was confronted in the parking lot. The offender attempted to take property from the victim. As the victim began to run away, he was shot. The offender left the scene in his vehicle as he continued to fire several more shots towards the business.
During this time officers were able to locate the offender who came to a dead end near Samba Dr.
Officers gave commands to the offender who attempted to evade. The offender was tazed then taken into custody. A firearm was recovered from the offender. His vehicle was also impounded.
27-year-old Isaac Rene Martinez was transported to a local hospital for medical clearance then taken to the city detention center for booking. He was charged with aggravated robbery, deadly conduct-discharge firearm, and evading arrest.
