BISHOP (News Release) - At approximately 2:56 PM on 12/08/2022, Bishop Police Department Shift I Officers, along with the assistance of Kleberg County Sheriff's Office, executed an arrest warrant on a subject in the 800 block of N. 14th Street, in Kingsville, Texas.

The suspect in this case, identified as 52 year old Rodulfo “Rudy” Orta, was wanted in connection with an ongoing Indecent Assault investigation, being led by the Bishop Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Division (C.I.D).

Earlier this week, Bishop Police Department patrol officers took a report from an individual who reported being the victim of an Indecent Assault. The victim in this case alleged the suspect, Orta, had entered her residence to provide pest control services and while inside the residence, made unwanted sexual advances and physically touched and groped her without consent.

The case was forwarded to Bishop Police Department criminal investigators, who based on the victim’s statement and other evidence, quickly obtained a warrant for Orta’s arrest.

Contact was made with the suspect at his place of employment in Kingsville and he was taken into custody without incident. The subject was magistrated by a Kleberg County Justice of the Peace, before eventually being transported to the Nueces County Jail.

This is an ongoing criminal investigation and additional criminal charges are possible. We are asking anyone who may have additional information on this case or any similar incidents involving this suspect, to contact Lt. Ryan Webb with the Bishop Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Division (C.I.D) at 361-584-2443 or 351-584-2666.
