The City of Kingsville, TX Mayor Sam Fugate requested a flyover during the USS KINGSVILLE LCS 36 Commissioning Ceremony.
During the ceremony, Kingsville’s commanding officer Cmdr. Ludwig Mann III, reported the ship manned and ready, and ship sponsor, gave the traditional order to “Man our ship and bring her to life!” Helping to welcome the ship to the fleet.
The USS Kingsville made her grand entrance into the Port of Corpus Christi on Sunday, August 18th.
Kingsville is the 18th Independence-variant Littoral Combat Ship (LCS) delivered by the company and the first U.S. Navy vessel to be named after the Texas city home to Naval Air Station Kingsville and directly tied to the historic King Ranch.
The future USS Kingsville (LCS 36) is named in honor of Kingsville, TX and is the first ship to bear the name.
