Nueces County Precinct Five Constable

ROBSTOWN, TEXAS (News Release) - A Robstown man is facing multiple felony charges after allegedly burglarizing homes under construction and leading deputies on a brief pursuit early Saturday morning, April 4, 2026, authorities said.

Nueces County Precinct 5 deputies were dispatched to a report of a suspicious vehicle in the area of Amanda Lane and Masters Drive. Upon arrival, deputies found a man, identified as 56-year-old Pedro Garcia Jr. of Robstown, parked in a dark, secluded area near several homes in various stages of construction.

Based on witness statements and items observed inside the vehicle, deputies believe Garcia had been burglarizing homes in the area.

When deputies ordered Garcia to exit the vehicle, he instead fled at a high rate of speed, ignoring commands to stop. A brief pursuit followed before Garcia lost control and crashed at County Road 44 and Business 77. The vehicle caught fire after the crash.

Deputies were able to remove Garcia from the burning vehicle and bring him to safety. He was transported to a hospital for treatment of his injuries.

Multiple felony charges are pending, authorities said.
