Local Sheriffs Offer Help with Border Security

ZAPATA, TEXAS (News Release) - On Tuesday, February 6, 2024, Zapata County Sheriff Del Bosque, hosted the Zapata County Operation Loan Star Taskforce press conference and marine unit launching ceremony.
Texas Border czar, Mike Banks, along with Falfurrias Police Department and Sheriffs from Goliad, Medina, Jackson and McLennan County were in attendance.
Operation Lone Star has been critical to Texas border cities by funding counties to collaborate with resources in the fight against illegal drug and human trafficking from Mexico.
According to BorderReport.com the “counties that have declared emergency disasters due to irregular immigration are eligible for funds and additional resources through Operation Lone Star to help boost their law enforcement presence on the border.”
