FAFLURRIAS, TEXAS (News Release) - Agents with the U.S. Customs and Border Protection made a significant drug seizure at the Falfurrias Border Patrol Checkpoint, intercepting approximately 44.5 kilograms (about 98 pounds) of suspected cocaine during an immigration inspection.

According to CBP, agents discovered the narcotics while conducting a routine inspection at the checkpoint. The cocaine was seized before it could continue toward its destination.

Officials said the interdiction represents another step in ongoing efforts to secure the nation's borders, disrupt transnational criminal organizations, and prevent illegal drugs from reaching communities across the United States.

Authorities did not release additional details about the vehicle, driver, or any potential arrests. The incident remains under investigation.
