Nueces County Public Health District Launches Free Monthly Nutrition Classes

The Corpus Christi-Nueces County Public Health District (CCNCPHD), in partnership with the Coastal Bend Food Bank, announced a new series of free monthly nutrition classes designed to foster healthy eating habits.

The classes are open to individuals and families and will take place on the last Wednesday of each month from 6-7 pm at the CCNCPHD Auditorium at 1702 Horne Road. The first class will be held on Wednesday, March 26.

“Nutrition education is a cornerstone of overall health and a powerful tool to prevent chronic conditions," said Dr. Dante Gonzalez, Interim Director of Public Health. "The nutrition classes will empower our community with the knowledge and skills to make healthier choices and improve their quality of life.

Participants will engage with nutritionists who will discuss various topics, including meal planning, understanding food labels, cooking demonstrations, and tips for making healthier choices on a budget.

Upcoming classes are scheduled as follows:

·        June 25

·        July 30

·        August 27

·        September 24
