Vehicle Ends Up in Bay Following Single-Vehicle Accident

CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS (News Release) - Emergency crews responded Wednesday evening after a single-vehicle crash sent a car into the water near the SPID and Laguna Shores turnaround.

According to Nueces County ESD #2, firefighters were dispatched at 5:43 p.m. on Wednesday, July 15, to a reported traffic accident with rescue. Crews from Nueces County ESD #2 and the Corpus Christi Fire Department (CCFD) responded to the scene.

Upon arrival, first responders found that the single vehicle had left the roadway and ended up in the bay. Rescue personnel worked to assist the occupant(s) and secure the scene.

Information regarding the condition of those involved and what caused the vehicle to enter the water has not been released.
