Kingsville Fire Department

KINGSVILLE, TEXAS (News Release) - A residential structure was heavily damaged by a fire late Sunday night, June 21, prompting a large emergency response from local and military firefighters.

At approximately 11:30 p.m., the Kingsville Fire Department responded to a reported structure fire in the 600 block of West Ella Avenue. Upon arrival, crews found the residence fully engulfed in flames, with heavy fire and smoke conditions throughout the structure.

Officers with the Kingsville Police Department confirmed that two occupants had safely evacuated the home before firefighters arrived, and no injuries were reported.

Firefighters initially assessed the possibility of an interior attack but were forced to transition to defensive operations due to significant roof collapse and hazardous interior conditions. Crews worked from the exterior to contain the blaze and prevent it from spreading to nearby properties.

Additional assistance was provided by firefighters from Naval Air Station Kingsville, whose support helped crews bring the fire under control.

The residence sustained extensive damage as a result of the fire. The cause remains under investigation by fire officials.

Authorities have not released any additional information at this time.
