As a result of the investigation, 21-year-old Carlos Raul Moreno of Alice and 18-year-old Javier Gonzalez of Alice were arrested.

The two men face multiple charges involving the possession, manufacture and delivery of controlled substances and marijuana, according to the Sheriff’s Office.

Moreno and Gonzalez were being held in the Jim Wells County Jail pending bond hearings.

The Sheriff’s Office said the operation is part of its continued effort to investigate and target illegal narcotics activity in Jim Wells County.

Following a recent operation targeting the Villagran-Sanchez Drug Trafficking Organization, Sheriff’s Office officials said they had pledged to continue pursuing individuals and organizations involved in illegal drug activity and not allow others to fill any void left by previous arrests.

“This morning’s operation is part of our effort to keep that promise,” the Sheriff’s Office stated.

The office said it will continue investigating narcotics activity and pursuing those suspected of bringing illegal drugs into Jim Wells County.
