Pct. 5 Deputy Attempted a Traffic Stop on an Alleged Stolen Vehicle

ROBSTOWN - (News Release) On July 5th Precinct 5 Deputy following up on a stolen vehicle BOLO aired out by Corpus Christi Police, spotted the vehicle on FM 70 and CR 63. Pct. 5 deputy with Constable Oscar Mendoza’s Office attempted a traffic stop on the alleged stolen vehicle. The driver of the black passenger vehicle refused to stop and accelerated to high speeds evading deputy. A police pursuit was then initiated which ended several minutes later on Hwy 77 North at access rd. CR 44. A felony stop was done on the vehicle with the assistance of local agencies including C.C Police, Robstown P.D. N.C Sheriffs Dept. and N.C Constable Pct. 3 deputies and N.C District attorneys’ C.I.U units. The driver identified as Carlo Gonzalez a Corpus Christi resident was taken into custody and transported to the Nueces County Jail on several felony charges including Evading Using Motor Vehicle, Theft of a Vehicle and felony warrants. No one was hurt during this pursuit.

All subjects are presumed innocent pending trial in a court of law.
