During the stop, Gonzalez developed reasonable suspicion of criminal activity, officials said. Task Force Special Agent M. Galvan responded to assist and deployed K-9 Bax, who alerted positively to the vehicle.
A subsequent search uncovered U.S. currency concealed inside the vehicle’s interior. Agents seized a total of $95,570.
Following the investigation, authorities determined the money was destined for a drug trafficking organization in Mexico.
The task force thanked the U.S. Border Patrol Special Investigations Unit in the Rio Grande Valley Sector for its assistance in the case.
