Traffic Violation Leads to 2 Illegal Immigrants on the Run in Driscoll

DRISCOLL - (News Release) - On July 23, 2022, at approximately 12:40 am, a Nueces County Constable Precinct 3 Deputy, assigned to Nueces County District Attorney Criminal Interdiction Unit, conducted a traffic stop on a Ford F-150 for a moving violation on US Highway 77 north of Driscoll, Texas.

While on the stop it was determined the passengers in the cab were undocumented illegal immigrants. Several more undocumented illegal immigrants were concealed and located in the bed of the vehicle under a bedcover.

A total of 12 undocumented illegal immigrants were recovered and transferred to US Border Patrol agents.

During the stop two subjects evaded officers and are currently at large.

The driver was arrested for smuggling of persons, which has a possible penalty of 2 to 10 years’ incarceration and a fine of up to $10,000.
