Bishop Enters Stage 1 Water Restrictions

BISHOP (News Release) - As of July 20, The City of Bishop with the South West Texas Authority (STWA) has imposed Stage 1 water restrictions under the Drought Contingency Plan.

Stage 1 of the plan is implemented when the combined capacity in the City of Corpus Christi reservoirs is estimated to be 40% of total storage capacity.

The following Stage 1 conservation restrictions shall be implemented immediately within the city limits of the City of Bishop:

  1. Irrigation systems may be used no more than once a week for outdoor watering and must be limited to the hours before 10:00 a.m. and after 6:00 p.m.

  2. Hand watering is allowed on any day using a hose with a positive shut off nozzle, and must be limited to the hours before 10:00 a.m. and after 6:00 p.m.

  3. Foundations may be watered once a week with a hose or drip irrigation.

Bishop Residents should practice efficient use of water by:

  1. Preventing water run-off on streets and sidewalks.

  2. Check for water leaks around their home.

  3. Wash using full loads for clothes and dish washers.
