BISHOP, TEXAS (News Release) - At approximately 4 pm on Saturday, January 20, 2024, the Bishop Police Department Shift I Patrol Officers, along with Nueces County Constable Precinct 3 Deputies, were dispatched to assist Nueces County E.S.D 3 Fire / Rescue and NCESD-6 EMS, on a residential structure fire in the 700 block of Thompson Drive, in Bishop, Texas.

Upon arrival on scene first responders discovered the residence fully engulfed in flames.

All occupants were able to get out of the house safely. Two of the residents were evaluated by EMS on scene and later transported to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Several area fire departments to include Robstown Fire Department, Annaville Fire Department-Nueces County ESD #1, Kleberg County Fire & Rescue, responded to the scene to assist with mutual aid and the fire was prevented from spreading to nearby homes and eventually extinguished.

The exact cause and origin of the fire is under investigation.
