2nd Structure Fire in 24 hours in Bishop

BISHOP, TEXAS (News Release) - On January 21, 2024, at approximately 2:55 pm, Nueces County Constable Pct 3, Bishop Police Department Officers, and ESD 3 fire personnel were dispatched to a structure fire located in the 700 block of East 6th Street in Bishop, Texas.

Upon arrival, a detached garage from the residence was fully engulfed. No injuries or and other properties were reported damaged.

All occupants were able to get out of the house safely and no injuries are being reported.

Several area fire departments to include Robstown Fire Department, Annaville Fire Department-Nueces County ESD #1, Kleberg County Fire & Rescue, responded to the scene to assist with mutual aid and the fire was prevented from spreading to nearby structures and eventually extinguished.

The exact cause and origin of the fire is under investigation.

This is the second fire in Bishop in 24 hours. The first one was on Saturday, January 20, 2024, at a residential home in the 700 block of Thompson Drive.
