Aransas Pass Police Department

ARANSAS PASS (News Release) - Just after 6 pm on Friday, March 11, Aransas Pass Police Officers were sent to the 1300 Block of North McCampbell Avenue for a shooting.

Jimmy Langston age 35 called the police department, stating he had just shot 48-year-old Jose Ayala Jr. after a child custody dispute at the Ayala residence.

Langston told the police dispatcher he was on his way to the police department.

When officers arrived at the Ayala residence, they found Ayala Jr. with multiple gunshot wounds to his chest. Officers and witnesses attempted lifesaving measures, and Ayala Jr. was ultimately transported to a nearby emergency room, where he died.
