3/27/25-FLASH FLOOD IN EFFECT. Abundant Gulf moisture combined with a slow moving storm system will bring the potential for multiple rounds of showers and thunderstorms, some with very heavy rainfall. The rain will continue tonight through Friday morning before ending. Given the hard dry soil from the lack of rainfall over the past several months, there is a potential for this heavy rain to quickly run off producing flash flooding.

Robstown ISD Girls Basketball Coach Arrested for Improper Relationship with Student

ROBSTOWN, TEXAS - On Tuesday, February 11, 2025, Robstown Police Department arrested 24-year-old Austin Barron, Robstown girl head basketball coach, for one count of improper relationship between a student and educator.

Robstown Superintendent Marc Puig confirmed that Barron was in custody as of Tuesday afternoon. 

"Due to the sensitive nature of this matter and to protect the privacy of the student and family involved, we are limited in the information we can share regarding the allegations and arrest," Puig said.

According to Robstown ISD website, Austin Barron is a graduate of Texas Tech University, where he earned his degree in Media Strategies. He was teaching Social Studies, Government, and Economics. In addition to being the girls head basketball coach, he has held roles with the varsity football team and was the Freshman class sponsor.
