Racers on Highway 358 go to Jail

CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS (News Release) - On December 15, at about 12:50 am, Corpus Christi Police Department (CCPD) officers were in the area of 4300 SPID (EB) when they observed two vehicles traveling at a high rate of speed east bound on HWY 358. Officers observed one white vehicle and one silver vehicle racing to outperform one another. The vehicles were observed traveling well over 100 mph.
Officers conducted a traffic stop on both speeding vehicles. Both vehicles came to a stop in a business parking lot at SPID and Staples. Street.
The driver of the white vehicle was arrested and identified as Isiah Emerson (21). The driver of the silver vehicle was arrested and identified as Deondre Greenwood (22). Both vehicles were impounded.
Both males knew each other. Both males were transported to the City Detention Center. Emerson was charged with racing on a highway, Possession of marijuana, and unlawful carrying of a weapon. Greenwood was charged with racing on a highway and unlawful carrying of a weapon.
