Public Health Agreement for Ongoing Services in Rural Nueces County

CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS (News Release) - Corpus Christi City Council approved a Cooperative Agreement between the City of Corpus Christi and Nueces County for the Corpus Christi-Nueces County Public Health District (CCNCPHD).

This agreement, which the Nueces County Commissioners Court approved on September 24, ensures continued collaboration between the City and County in providing vital public health services to the rural areas of Nueces County.

In March 2022, the City of Corpus Christi became the sole operator of the CCNCPHD under an initial cooperative agreement with Nueces County.

This latest agreement secures a contribution of $1.8 million from Nueces County for the fiscal year 2026.

The following rural health services will continue:

Calderon Clinic Services (Robstown):

The CCNCPHD will continue to provide services at the Calderon Clinic in Robstown every Tuesday and Thursday from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Services include:

·        Immunizations (State/Federal programs)

·        Screenings for diabetes, hypertension, and cholesterol

·        STI testing and treatment

·        HIV screening, counseling, and coordination

·        TB screening and reporting

Mobile Health Clinic Bus Services: 

The Mobile Health Clinic will continue its schedule twice a month in rural areas of Nueces County.

Services include:

·        Immunizations (State/Federal programs)

·        Screenings for diabetes, hypertension, and cholesterol

·        HIV counseling and coordination
