Overnight Shooting at Yorktown Blvd.

CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS (News Release) - On Thursday, December 26, 2024, at 1:32 am, officers were dispatched to the 6500 block of Yorktown Blvd. in reference to a large fight with injuries. While officers were enroute to the location, the call upgraded to a shooting with injuries.
Officers arrived and located a 30-year-old male gunshot victim and began providing medical aid to the victim. Medics arrived and transported the male to a local hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
Officers spoke with witnesses and observed video surveillance. A verbal argument between the victim and others ensued, which then turned into a physical altercation between the victim and offender. The fight was broken up and the victim was kicked out of the location. In the parking lot, the victim got into another fight with an unknown subject when the first offender, who had also exited the premises, produced a handgun and shot the victim.
A 37-year-old female, who was not involved in the altercation, was also struck by the gunfire and was transported to a local hospital by private vehicle with non-life-threatening injuries.
Officers believe the victim and offender are known to each other and this is not a random act of violence.
