City of Corpus Christi
CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS (News Release) – Holiday fireworks and loud noises can frighten pets, causing them significant stress and anxiety. Animals have heightened senses, making them more sensitive to loud sounds. This fear can lead to destructive behavior, attempts to escape, or even injury.
Protecting pets during these events is crucial for their well-being and maintaining a peaceful environment.
Providing a safe space, such as a quiet room with comforting items, and using calming techniques can help alleviate their fear. Ensuring our furry friends feel secure during these times is vital to responsible pet ownership.
To keep pets safe and calm during fireworks, it's essential to take a few precautions:
Keep sparklers, glow sticks, and fireworks away from pets; keep them comfortable and close to you.
Before the fireworks begin, take your pets for a walk and have their favorite toy ready.
Play soothing music to keep them calm.
Make sure your pets are microchipped in case they become separated from you.
