One Killed, Another Seriously Injured in Hwy 361 Head-On Crash

NUECES COUNTY (News Release) - One person was killed and another seriously injured Monday night following a head-on collision on Highway 361 near Access Road 2.
According to the Nueces County Emergency Services District No. 2, units from ESD No. 2 and the Corpus Christi Fire Department responded to the crash at approximately 7 p.m. Aug. 10, 2026.
One of the drivers died as a result of the collision. The other driver sustained significant injuries and was transported to a local hospital for treatment.
Highway 361 was expected to remain closed in the area until shortly after 11 p.m. Monday as emergency crews worked the scene and investigators conducted their investigation.
Officials urged motorists to expect significant delays in both directions of travel and to seek alternate routes while the roadway was closed.
