Odem and Sinton Volunteer Fire Department

ODEM, TEXAS (News Release) - The Odem Fire Department responded just before noon on Christmas Day to a structure fire involving hay bales inside a barn, officials said.

Odem firefighters arrived on scene and led suppression efforts as crews worked for several hours to contain the fire, which was intensified by the large quantity of hay involved. Due to the scope of the incident, mutual aid from the Sinton Volunteer Fire Department with additional manpower and equipment was requested.

Firefighters from both departments coordinated operations to bring the blaze under control and prevent it from spreading beyond the structure.

The Odem Fire Department acknowledged the assistance of the Sinton Volunteer Fire Department, the San Patricio County Office of Emergency Management, and San Patricio County Commissioner Ruben Gonzales for providing resources that were instrumental in containing and extinguishing the fire.
