ROBSTOWN, TEXAS – (News Release) On August 1, 2024, NEC Co-op Energy hosted a special reception at their headquarters, located at 14353 Cooperative Ave, Robstown, Texas 78380. This event honored 50 exceptional teachers from over 40 schools who were awarded a total of $30,000 in grants through our Supply A Teacher program.

NEC Co-op Energy supports educators from all around Texas with financial resources to enhance their classrooms. This year, teachers from schools like Edna Junior High, Falfurrias Junior High, Calallen High School, St. Anthony Catholic School, Cristo Rey, Dallas Memorial Elementary, and Roy Miller High School, among others.

“We are delighted to celebrate these teachers’ remarkable contributions,” said Celeste Thomas, HR and Communications Representative. “We hope these grants enhance their classrooms and inspire even greater learning.”

While not all recipients could attend, there was an excellent turn out and they received a backpack, an insulated cup, and a “snackle box.” The reception offered grant recipients a chance to connect with fellow educators from various Texas schools and with NEC Co-op Energy representatives. The sense of community and collaboration among local educators was evident, showcasing the collective spirit of those committed to making a difference. It was heartening to see such enthusiasm and camaraderie as we celebrated the vital role teachers play in our communities.
