Man on Horseback Accused of Assaulting Staff With Rifle

CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS (News Release) - On Saturday, July 25, 2026, Officers with the Corpus Christi Police Department were dispatched to the 400 block of Starr St. in reference to an Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon.

After investigation, it was determined that Deeandre McGee (27), a documented gang member, arrived at the location on horseback and physically assaulted staff with a rifle.

Due to the violent nature of the call, this incident was promptly investigated by CCPD’s Gang Unit and further adopted by NIBIN.

On July 29, 2026, CCPD’s NIBIN Detective obtained two warrants for McGee for Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon and Engaging in Organized Criminal Activity. With the assistance of CCPD’s Violent Crimes Unit and the Drone Unit, Gang Officers were able to take McGee into custody during a traffic stop for his two active warrants. McGee was additionally charged with MAN/DEL of a Controlled Substance PG 1 >= 4G < 200G and Unlawful Carrying of a Weapon.

A search warrant was obtained and conducted in the 1100 block of Green Leaf Dr. A rifle, matching the description of the one used during the assault was located at this time.

This investigation was a great collaborative effort by multiple units within CCPD.
