Lake Padre Bulkhead Repairs

CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS – (News Release) Private developers will begin making bulkhead repairs this week to correct sections recently undermined by erosion.
The bulkhead section is on private property in the navigation canal between the Don Patricio Bridge and Lake Padre, just outside the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) right of way.
The corrective actions may involve installing an earthen berm to control flow during construction activities and may restrict boat navigation in this vicinity until the corrective actions are completed.
The Don Patricio Bridge is not threatened since a deep, drilled shaft foundation supports it. An articulated block mat revetment protects the canal under the bridge against underwater erosion.
