Homicide Arrest Update

CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS (News Release) - On Monday, January 1, 2024, at 1:00am, officers were dispatched to the 4200 block of McArdle Road in reference to a major traffic accident involving a pedestrian.

Officers arrived and began life-saving measures until medics arrived and transported a 54-year-old Hispanic male to a local hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.

Detectives with the Criminal Investigation Division continued their investigation, speaking with numerous witnesses. The investigation has led to find that there was an additional 44-year-old Hispanic male victim that was struck by the vehicle. The investigation also led to probable cause to believe that the actions leading to the death of the 54-year-old male was not an accident.

Jason Guajardo was arrested for murder ($1,000,000 bond) on Monday, January 1, 2024, and was transported to the City Detention Center for booking.

This is an active and ongoing investigation.
