Hit and Run Outside of Petronilla

PETRONILLA, TEXAS (News Release) - On Saturday, March 2, 2024, at approximately 12:19 pm the Nueces County Pct. 3 Constable's Office responded to a minor hit and run accident at the intersection of FM 43 and FM 665 and FM 2444.

Upon arrival, Pct. 3 Deputy spoke to the driver of a black BMW, who was not injured, and told the deputy she was traveling eastbound on FM 43 when she approached the intersection. The driver said that when she stopped for the stop sign, the vehicle behind her struck her vehicle from the rear.

She told the deputy she briefly spoke to the Hispanic male driver, who apologized for the accident, said he didn't have a driver's license, and fled the scene without leaving any information.

The suspect vehicle was described as a light metallic blue SUV with a paper plate.

The damage to the reporting party's vehicle was very minor, and an incident report was completed.
