U.S. Customs and Border Protection

HEBBRONVILLE (News Release) - During the late morning of August 5, agents assigned to the Hebbronville Station acted on several 911 calls from individuals on a train near Hebbronville. While conducting a train inspection, agents discovered three undocumented individuals inside a grain hopper and apprehended over 20 others in the vicinity. All the individuals were from the countries of Mexico and El Salvador and were processed accordingly.

One individual attempted to flee into the nearby brush but was apprehended and required medical assistance. Border Patrol Emergency Medical Technicians provided immediate medical assistance. The semi-conscious individual was transported by air to the nearest hospital in Laredo.

This dangerous method of traveling through the United States after illegal entry is strongly discouraged as it often results in serious injury or death.  Many times, migrants choose this grueling method of transportation without realizing the consequences of their actions until it is too late. Fortunately, in this case, agents detected the individuals and were able to rescue them before any fell victim to a heat related injury.
