Head-on Collision Near Bishop

BISHOP, TEXAS - (News Release) On 8/8/24 at approximately 8:51 A.M. Deputies with the Pct. 3 Constable's Office, along with Bishop PD, NCSO, DPS, and Nueces County ESD 3, responded to the area of F.M. 70 near County Road 73 reference to a head-on collision involving two vehicles.

Upon arrival, the drivers involved were out of their vehicles. The driver of the White Ford F-150 pickup truck was complaining of shoulder pain from the seat belt, and the driver of the Blue Mini Van was complaining of pain in his leg.

Medics responded, treated both drivers at the scene, and transported the driver of the Ford F-150 to Spohn Shoreline Hospital for minor injuries. The driver if the Mini Van refused transport. DPS worked the crash.

The investigation determined that the driver of the Ford F-150 was traveling eastbound on F.M. 70 while the driver of the Mini Van was traveling westbound as they approached each other. The driver of the Ford F-150 then made a left turn in front of the Mini Van without yielding the right of way, and both vehicles struck.
