KINGSVILLE - Yesterday, parents of H.M. King High School students received two robocall to inform them that the school was on lockdown after receiving news of a gun being present.

KISD Administrative personnel had brought in witnesses and initiated a lockdown of the school in an abundance of caution.

Law Enforcement personnel from the Kingsville Police Department, Kleberg County Sheriff's Office, Kleberg County Attorney Specialized Crimes Task Force, Kleberg County Constable Pct 1, Texas Department of Public Safety, Texas Ranger, and the US Border Protection responded and formed a Unified Command Structure to manage the incident.

Kingsville Superintendent, Dr. Crissy Reynolds-Perez confirmed to media outlets that "a student reported overhearing something to one of our administrators."

In a press release, Kingsville Police Department said that a thorough investigation was conducted, and no weapon could be found on located, nor could it verify that a weapon was ever present on campus.

No student or faculty member was injured during this response.
