FALFURRIAS, TEXAS (News Release) - On January 1, 2026, Falfurrias Police Department announced they are looking for Damian Rodriguez, a suspect who has made direct threats against a police officer and has engaged in violent criminal activity against law enforcement.

Officials stress that the safety of both officers and the community remains the department’s highest priority.

“A threat against one of our officers is a threat against all,” the department stated. “We will continue working relentlessly with our law enforcement partners until this individual is safely taken into custody.”

A cash reward of $3,500 is being offered for information that leads to Rodriguez’s arrest. The Falfurrias Police Department thanked the Freer Police Department for contributing to the reward.

PREMONT, TEXAS (News Release) - Law enforcement agencies are asking for the public’s help in locating Damian Rodriguez, who remains armed and dangerous following multiple violent incidents involving officers.

According to investigators, at approximately 8 p.m. on December 31, 2025, the Premont Police Department was notified of a terroristic threat made against the life of a municipal police officer, a state jail felony. Rodriguez was also wanted for questioning in connection with a Deadly Conduct (F3) case from the previous day.

During efforts to locate the suspect, authorities say Rodriguez fired a round that narrowly missed Premont police officers, resulting in an Aggravated Assault on a Public Servant (F1) investigation. A call for assistance was issued, bringing in local, state, and federal agencies, including Texas DPS, Texas Rangers, U.S. Border Patrol and BORTAC, Jim Wells County Sheriff’s Office, Brooks County Sheriff’s Office, and the Falfurrias Police Department.

During the search, several Texas State Troopers also had multiple rounds fired in their direction at close range. No injuries were reported. The investigation is ongoing, and additional charges are pending.

A $3,500 cash reward is being offered for information leading to Rodriguez’s arrest.
