Eric Cason Punches Ticket to State Powerlifting Meet with 990-Pound Total

KINGSVILLE, TEXAS (News Release) - H.M. King High School powerlifter Eric Cason has qualified for the Texas High School Powerlifting State Meet after a strong performance at the regional meet.

Competing in the 123-pound weight class, Cason placed fifth with a combined total of 990 pounds. During the meet, he recorded two personal records in the squat and bench press.

Cason also tied the regional bench press record with a lift of 295 pounds. He attempted 300 pounds and completed the lift, but it was not counted by judges.

Cason will now represent H.M. King High School and the Kingsville community at the state meet after working throughout the season to earn the qualification.
