Del Mar College

Corpus Christi, TEXAS (News Release) – Del Mar College (DMC) has named Edgar Moctezuma its new vice president and chief physical facilities officer, bringing experience in large sports, entertainment and higher education facilities maintenance and operations. Moctezuma will join DMC’s leadership team Monday, Oct. 12.

Moctezuma, who most recently served as chief property officer for the Lone Star College System, has more than 20 years of experience overseeing facilities and operations, including 14 years at Reliant Stadium – now NRG Stadium – and Shell Energy Stadium in Houston prior to leading facilities operations at University of St. Thomas.

“As Del Mar College continues to grow and invest in the facilities and learning environments that support our students and community, strong leadership of our physical infrastructure will remain essential,” said Dr. Mark Escamilla, president and chief executive officer. “I am confident Edgar’s experience and perspective will be assets as we maintain our existing facilities, plan for future needs and ensure our campuses continue to support the College’s mission.”

Moctezuma holds a Master of Business Administration from the University of St. Thomas and a Bachelor of Business Administration from Southern New Hampshire University. He is also a Certified Facility Manager (CFM), Project Management Professional (PMP) and HVAC certified.

Dr. Escamilla added, “His experience spans large-scale facilities operations, engineering, project management and the stewardship of complex physical environments, and I look forward to the experience and leadership Edgar will bring to our College and our work ahead.”
