Del Mar College
CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS (News Release) - The culmination of hard work, long days (and nights) and sheer perseverance through life’s myriads of challenges to get to this step in their journey––crossing the stage at the American Bank Center as Del Mar College (DMC) graduates.
For the 713 out of the college’s 953 total prospective graduates making up the Class of May 2025, Friday night marks a new chapter in their lives when they march into and out of the arena at the American Bank Center during DMC’s Spring 2025 Commencement Ceremony, which is the largest graduating class since at least 2019 when 714 Vikings crossed the stage during that Spring graduation ceremony.
Overall, the college will award 1,214 certificates and associate degrees combined to the total graduating class this spring.
Among the list are 128 Dual Enrollment Program graduates, who are high school students receiving certificates and associate degrees from DMC before even walking the stage during their own schools’ commencement ceremonies to receive their diplomas. These students include:
21 students from Moody High School,
20 students from Veterans Memorial High School,
15 students from Robstown High School,
14 students from Gregory-Portland High School,
9 students from King High School,
8 students from Falfurrias High School,
6 students each from Banquete and West Oso high schools,
5 students from Mary Carroll High School,
4 each from Calallen, Premont and Ray high schools,
3 students from Miller High School,
2 students each from Flour Bluff High School and Texas Home Schooled, and
1 each from Grace Temple Christian Academy, Por Vida Academy and A.C. Jones (Beeville), Skidmore-Tynan and Ingleside high schools.
In addition, Class of May 2025 prospective graduates include 39 from Collegiate High School (CHS) and 22 from Harold T. Branch Academy for Career and Technical Education. As a partnership between Del Mar College and the Corpus Christi Independent School District, these students attend both high school and college simultaneously with the CHS located on the Heritage Campus and Branch Academy down the street on Morgan Ave. from the Windward Campus. Both are holding their commencement ceremonies tonight, May 15, in Richardson Performance Hall on the Heritage Campus with the Branch Academy graduation at 5 p.m. and CHS at 7 p.m.
Tomorrow night, Del Mar College’s ceremony begins at 7 p.m. Due to limited tickets that graduates may provide to family and friends to attend the ceremony in-person, DMC will livestream the event, and individuals can go online to watch beginning at 6:30 p.m. using the following link: www.youtube.com/watch?v=QlH4sJtrpgg.
