Corpus Christi Fire Department Mourns Loss of Fellow Firefighter

CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS — (News Release) The Corpus Christi Fire Department (CCFD) announces the loss of one of its members. Firefighter Mark Solis lost his battle with cancer on May 23.

Firefighter Solis served the Corpus Christi community for 23 years. He worked out of Fire Stations #1, #3, #6, #10, and #14 and was also assigned to the Training Division.

“We are saddened at the loss of a brother firefighter,” Fire Chief Brandon Wade said. “Mark Solis fought courageously against cancer, embodying the spirit of dedication and sacrifice. Our thoughts and deepest condolences go out to his family and friends.”

Firefighter Solis leaves behind a former wife and three children and current wife and a son. Details of the funeral services will be shared as soon as they are available.

Chief Wade authorized the shrouding of firefighter badges until the services for Firefighter Solis are completed and has requested that residents keep the Solis family in their prayers during this difficult time.
