Burn Ban Issued for Corpus Christi

City of Corpus Christi

CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS (News Release) – Weather conditions have led to an elevated risk of fires. The City of Corpus Christi has issued a burn ban on City beaches and parks from March 7 to March 23.

Bonfires and recreational fires on beaches and parks within City limits are prohibited during a burn ban.

The burn ban prohibits the following:

  • Recreational fires

  • Campfires

The burn ban is effective from March 7 through March 23.

Outdoor burning poses an additional public safety risk because of:

  • Drought conditions

  • Increased dry brush that fuels a fire

  • High winds

Furthermore, outdoor welding and other “hot work” activities must adhere to fire code regulations.
