Border Patrol Agents Apprehend Several Train Jumpers

LAREDO – U.S. Border Patrol agents from the Cotulla Station apprehended several individuals north of Cotulla, Texas attempting to illegally continue their journey into the United States via train jumping.

The incident occurred during the late evening, when agents observed several individuals aboard a northbound freight train near Cotulla, Texas.  The agents contacted the rail service company and requested the train be stopped at the nearest siding for inspection.  Agents apprehended 14 individuals who are illegally in the United States and from the countries of Guatemala, Honduras, and Mexico.

This dangerous method of illegal entry into the United States by illegal immigrants is strongly discouraged as it often results in serious injury or death especially during this time of dangerous weather conditions.  The Laredo Sector Border Patrol continues to warn against the dangers of crossing illegally into the United States through dangerous and hazardous means.
