BISHOP, TEXAS (News Release) - On the afternoon of May 13, 2025, the Bishop Police Department responded to multiple 9-1-1 calls regarding a suspicious person in the 400 block of West 2nd Street. Callers reported a male subject walking in the middle of the public roadway, acting erratically, and creating a potential hazard for passing motorists and the public.

39-Year-Old-Matthew Felder

Upon arrival, officers made contact with the individual, identified as Matthew Felder (DOB 08/29/1985). Officers observed behavior consistent with intoxication. Based on the totality of the circumstances and out of concern for his safety and the safety of others, Felder was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Nueces County Jail for Public Intoxication.

The Bishop Police Department reminds the public that all individuals are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
