NUECES COUNTY, TEXAS - (News Release) Tips for Avoiding Becoming a Victim of Government Impersonation Scams.

•Do not pay anyone contacting you via social media, emails, or otherwise offering free government services.

•Do not share your personal information. The government will never message you through social media asking for personal or financial information.

•Do not be fooled by fake government websites that use .org, .com, or .us domains. Government websites always use a .gov domain.

•If you spot a scam, pause and report it to the FTC at ReportFraud.ftc.gov or call 833-372-8311.
