Alice Man Arrested on Aggravated Assault and Injury to a Child Charges

ALICE, TEXAS (News Release) - An Alice man has been arrested following an investigation into an alleged assault, according to the Jim Wells County Sheriff's Office.
46 year-old Raul Barrientes.
Sheriff's deputies began a preliminary investigation on Wednesday, June 10, 2026, after receiving allegations of an assault. The case was later assigned to the Jim Wells County Criminal Investigation Division, which conducted a full investigation with assistance from the Child Advocacy Center of Kingsville and Child Protective Services.
As the investigation progressed, investigators developed sufficient probable cause and presented the case to a magistrate, who issued an arrest warrant for Raul Barrientes, 46, of Alice.
Barrientes is charged with Aggravated Assault Causing Serious Bodily Injury and Injury to a Child.
The warrant was executed on Tuesday, July 14, 2026, and Barrientes was taken into custody without incident. He was transported to the Jim Wells County Jail, where he was booked and remanded to the custody of jail personnel.
