REFUGIO, TEXAS - (News Release) Intense two-day weekend of ALERRT Level I active shooter response training.

Refugio PD would like to give a special thanks to Refugio ISD Superintendent Melissa Gonzalez for allowing them to use the district facilities and to the ALERRT instructors; Lead Instructor Kevin Oates, Chief Clifford Woitena, Chief (ret.) Juan Gonzales and Javier Solis for training the law enforcement officers in active shooter response tactics, providing them with additional specialized weapons & tactics training, and equipping them with proper tools to prepare them for when a critical incident occurs.

In attendance was the Refugio Police Department, Refugio County Sheriff’s Office, Robstown Police Department, Gregory Police Department, Sinton Police Department, Houston Police Department, Beeville Police Department, Bishop Police Department, Refugio Constables Office 1 and 2, Woodsboro Police Department, Border Patrol and Uvalde Police Department.

The main response goal is to prevent mission failures and loss of life!
