CORPUS CHRISTI (News Release) - On Wednesday, February 14, 2024, Corpus Christi Deputy Chief Anthony Sanders read the book he authored and published, “A Journey for Jurnee,” to the fourth graders at Rose Shaw Elementary.

“A Journey for Jurnee”

"Join Jurnee on an exciting journey to learn about the important role of police officers and other first responders in her community. Her Pop Pop, a kind and dedicated police officer, takes her on a captivating adventure to meet and discuss his fellow officers and witness their many acts of kindness and bravery.

Along the way, Jurnee discovers the many ways police officers keep people safe and help those in need. She meets officers who help lost children, rescue animals from danger, and protect people from harm. She also learns about the challenges police officers face and how they work together to make their community a better place.

Through Jurnee's journey, young readers will gain a deeper understanding of the important work police officers and first responders do and the positive impact they have on their communities. They will learn to appreciate the dedication, bravery, and compassion of these everyday heroes."
