The program helps close the regional skills gap, promotes economic development, and creates job opportunities. This initiative strengthens the local economy, attracts businesses, and enhances Del Mar College's reputation as a key provider of education and workforce training in Corpus Christi.

The grant will support five key programs at Del Mar College, including:

  • Engineering and Robotics

  • Chemistry Laboratory Technicians

  • Industrial Machining

“This investment will ensure that Del Mar College continues to offer cutting-edge training and that our community remains competitive in today’s rapidly changing job market,” said Mayor Paulette Guajardo.
The program's first phase includes curriculum development, equipment acquisition, and recruitment of qualified instructors. It is expected to launch in early 2025.
