City Council Approves $1 Million for Affordable Senior Housing

City of Corpus Christi

CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS (News Release) – At today’s regularly scheduled Corpus Christi City Council meeting, the Council approved a $1 million investment for the development of Palo Verde Senior Apartments, an affordable housing community for seniors located at 5501 Huntwick Avenue.

The funding will be provided from the Type B Affordable Housing Fund.

The project will include 80 senior apartment units, with 75 reserved for households earning at or below 60 percent of the Area Median Income (AMI).

“This investment reflects our commitment to making sure our seniors can age with dignity right here in Corpus Christi,” said Interim City Manager Dan McGinn. “Affordable housing like Palo Verde provides stability, security, and peace of mind for residents who have contributed so much to our community.”
