If you work or engage in the legal world in a setting that requires Spanish language skills, Del Mar College Spanish Language faculty have organized a FREE Legal Spanish Seminar, “Enhancing Communication in the Legal Field,” from 11 a.m. to 12:20 p.m. in Room 212 of the Coles Classroom Building on the Heritage Campus.
Legal professionals will join faculty to provide an in-depth look at the role Spanish language proficiency plays in the legal field to help professionals navigate the challenges and opportunities of working with Spanish-speaking clients.
Attendees will hear presenters’ insights and practical tips for improving communication in legal settings as they discuss the importance of Spanish language skills that ensure equal access to justice for Spanish-speaking individuals and cover challenges and benefits of using Spanish in legal proceedings and client interactions. They’ll also encourage participants to share personal experiences involving the necessary use of Spanish in legal work as part of a productive conversation to overcome language barriers and enhance legal services. The public is invited; so, whether you work in the legal field or are simply interested in learning more about improving your legal Spanish skills, “Enhancing Communication in the Legal Field” offers valuable knowledge and practical strategies that you can use. Deadline to register for limited seating is 5 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 5. Email jmorin@delmar.edu to leave an RSVP.
